The Point Caption: "The Point", 12" x 12" oil on panel "Georgian Bay is a playground of rocks. For an artist who loves a variety of textures, colours and shapes, few other places compare to the Bay's offerings. The canoe took me out to one of these granite-laden islands near Twelve Mile Bay, where I continued on foot to explore with my paints. Reaching the west point, I enjoyed an expansive view of water to the horizon, as the sun set down for the evening. As I turned back, this impressive outcropping faced me, my low vantage point making it seem all the larger. The dynamic angles caught my attention, as did the clouds looming in the background. Add in a touch of wind-swept pines, and I had all the ingredients I needed." STATUS: Private Collection
