Along the coast of Pukaskwa National Park one finds the mouth of the White River. Surrounded by wilderness and ancient cliffs, its a wonderful part of the Lake Superior coast.
Following the river upstream leads to rapids that halt progress by water. There is however a portage trail that leads around the rough stuff. But more than just being a bypass, it actually takes you to a suspension bridge that allows you to cross the river from a high vantage point. After looking it over, I couldnt resist the compelling view, so I set my easel up and created this painting, looking upstream.
