"This painting was a commissioned by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, from which a poster was printed to promote our resources. As part of the research process, I went to a nearby stream to snorkle and gather reference. Because of the timing of he project, I had to do this in February, and was fortunate to find a stretch of river that was not frozen. I had a great deal of freedom in composing this piece, and even added some personal elements to it; my daughter Andie and a good friend Don".
